Hello! I'm Michael Woods, founder of The Window & Door Store, located in Bismarck, ND. I am so delighted that you have stopped by our website today. Everyone asks us how we came to existence so I want to share our story with you.

It really began in May of 2000 in Dickinson, ND. While working for a large home improvement company and not having a lot of work to do, my wife an I decided to start our own construction company. We had just been married and I was a little concerned but we figured we would rather starve working for ourselves than for someone else.

We went looking for work and began installing siding on new homes in the Dickinson, ND area. This lead to installing roofing and eventually small remodeling projects. The big break came when we built our first home. This led to other new construction projects. Over the next several years we were involved in just about every facet of residential and light commercial construction.

Over time we came to realize that exterior home improvements was really were our heart was. After moving to Bismarck, ND in 2007 we decided to narrow our focus even more to residential replacment windows and doors. We started The Window & Door Store because we knew that there was a better way to serve homeowners and make their homes more beautiful as well as energy efficient.
